Event Manager Vs EventEntrepreneur

Event manager - A professional Entrepreneur Or mere just a an event manager 

 

It has observed that few dialogues like event managers are passionate .. they work with dedication & determination .. thats true .. but are they entrepreneurs ? NO .. 

They get stuck with the words like passionate , dedicated , devoted , determined , hard worker etc .. after serving more than 25 years in business I can vouch that event managers has be an entrepreneur rather they needs to be businessman.. 

 

Unless they dont explore the possibility of evententreprenueror event business they will keep on struggling with day to day activities. 

 

Letexplore what is difference between Sole proprietor , Entrepreneur & Business 

 

Sole propritor - He believes everything he will do with himself .. it will be a big failure if he dont Visit sight , staff may not work , staff will do timepass , staff wont stay for longer time etc 

 

EventEntrepreneur - He believes in systems, he trust people , he builds team with trust & ethics with transparency & mostly focus on availability whenever is needed 

 

EventBusinessMan - He believes in multitasking & operates through a channelised process over more than 500 employees .. 

 

There are multiple companies in event field who are passionate , dedicated , devoted & determined .. but the entire qualification & qualities are with companies & not with steak-holders , the more we get attached with product the more we get involved & become restricted to individual identity , it may take several years to shift you from one another .. but the earliest is better one .. 

 

Few times even we get attach with events & honestly I have observed we do nothing rather pretending & networking on event days .. once your systems are implemented hardly you need to do anything .. the biggest lacuna or loophole is we as event managers should come out of this Procrastination” kind of terminology which is a killing instinct , mostly client dont feel the depth of the work speed , so they are not even concerned with timelines .. & One fine morning they want everything ASAP or Urgent & Now . here is the main struggle starts,  in this situation customer operates you & you become a puppet .. rather its should be a joint venture of booth customer & you to make the event more successful with trust & believe with transparency u & ..  starts ..

 

Importantly you must have a systems & your time should be spent with deadlines with approx 85% time on planning that too macro planning which will reduce you work load at the time time of execution .& moreover from your crew or squad whosoever will take the charge of particular department he or she is aware of what work needs to be done, so it becomes system oriented & not human oriented ,.. off course our business is all about personal touch & that can be given by being available whenever is needed .... . in short we need to educate our client for the seriousness of timeline & deadlines. We need to stick to our own discipline,, 

 

The event field is growing like anything .. & has huge demands everywhere & in all, 

We need to be ready as company & not as individual. 

 

Think biog & do big ., this can be the mantra for coming years ..
